ITVoice News: After Sheryl Sandberg’s visit to the country, it is time for Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg to visit India. Zuckerberg is reportedly coming to India to be a part of the first Internet.org summit taking place in New Delhi, on 9-10 October. India is the second biggest market for the social networking huge.
through his visit to the country, Zuckerberg is likely to meet PM Narendra Modi, alongwith members of other key ministries. He is the third high profile CEO of a US-based company, following Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and Microsoft’s Satya Nadella, who have visited India recently.
His Endeavour, called Internet.org, aspires to make internet accessible and affordable across the globe. Internet.org is an effort of companies including Facebook, Ericsson, MediaTek, Nokia, Opera, Qualcomm and Samsung.
These big-shots are working to develop low-cost, affordable smartphones and deploy Internet access in underserved communities.
