FireEye Hunts For Partners In Critical Infrastructure Space
Eyes expansion across high potential regions of the country, including all the major metros.US based network security firm, Fire Eye has said that it is looking to rope in more channel partners to enhance its focus on India’s critical infrastructure space. ”Finance, Government and Critical Infrastructure come as the most targeted verticals in India by cyber criminals. We are eyeing to increase our channel count, dedicated to the Critical Infrastructure segment in the country,” said Terence Ng, Channel Director for Asia Pacific and Japan, FireEye. The pure play enterprise security provider has partnered with Delhi based, Inflow Technologies for national distribution and has 10-12 re sellers, operating across the country. ”We are looking to scale up our operations in 4-5 high potential regions, including metros in India. We also have software giants like TCS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra operating as our System Integrators,” added Terence. The company’s sales model includes both traditional Capex model for appliances as well as a SaaS model for cloud based security services. FireEye also claims to be offering a hybrid solution where in some of the appliances are based in-house of the customer’s premise, while some are beamed as cloud offerings. On the challenges front, the company claims that unawareness related to sophisticated cyber-attacks, similar to one encountered by Bangladesh Bank comes as a major challenge in the Indian cyber security space. ”Unawareness as well as compliance related issues are two major upfront challenges in India. We also aim to be the de facto solution provider for the mushrooming SMBs in India as the country is on the verge of getting highly digitalised,” said Terence. FireEye claims itself to be the leader in the specialized enterprise security space, with a global market share of 60-65 per cent.
