Indian mobile handset company Spice has recently introduced a pocket-friendly Firefox based smartphone named Fire One Mi-FX 2. The device comes with a 9cm (3.5-inch) LCD display with a resolution of 320×480 pixels.
The phone has 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM which can further be expanded up to 32GB via microSD. Fire One Mi-FX 2 relies on 1GHz processor and runs on Firefox OS 1.4. Powered by an 1100mAh battery, it claims to deliver 6 hours and 30 minutes of talk time, and 4 days of standby time on 2G networks.
The smartphone’s connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, FM radio, Bluetooth 3.0 and USB. It sports a 2MP rear camera with dual LED flash and a 1.3 MP front camera for selfies. Priced at Rs. 2799, the handset will be available in Tangy Orange, Midnight Black, and Ash Silver. However, In a market dominated by Android, and iOS, a new platform like Firefox will take time to attract followers.
