Flipkart Hires Previous Yahoo Expert Eric Lange

Flipkart Flipkart and its subsidiary Myntra’ hiring of senior talent from Silicon Valley continues apace. Flipkart announced on Tuesday that Yahoo veteran Eric Lange has joined Flipkart as the vice president of product management for its customer experience. Previously, Lange served as the Vice President of Product Management in the Ads division for Yahoo and spearheaded Yahoo’s acquisitions of the mobile advertising and analytics company, Flurry, and the video advertising platform, Bright Roll.

Flipkart-owned, Myntra similarly announced that Google Chromecast co-founder, Ambarish Kenghe has been appointed as its Senior Vice President and Head of Product.

Punit Soni, Flipkart’s chief product officer said, “We are very excited to welcome Eric to the Flipkart team. His deep and varied expertise will be tremendously useful in helping us connect even more closely with our growing customer base.”

“We are excited to have Ambarish join our leadership team to lead product management. He has an extensive experience in developing various world class consumer products including Google Chromecast,” said Mukesh Bansal, CEO, Myntra and Head of Commerce, Flipkart.

This comes four days after Flipkart’s CTO, Amod Malviya and its engineering head, Sameer Nigam quit . Over the past few months, Flipkart has been trying to evolve its organisational structure by hiring top talent from the Silicon Valley. Earlier this year, the ecommerce giant hired Peeyush Ranjan and Punit Soni, both engineering seniors at Google, as its Head of Engineering and Chief Product Officer. The Bengaluru-based company had reorganised into 3 units, in February. CEO, Sachin Bansal now looks after new initiatives, CTO Binny Bansal handles the supply chain management, while Myntra CEO, Mukesh Bansal heads the commerce department.
