Flipkart Pulls Out of Airtel Zero After Net Objectivity Protests

flipkart_ndtv_profitFlipkart has pulled out from Airtel Zero platform, after facing a lot of criticism on the social media.
The founder of Flipkart, Sachin Bansal tweeted out in support of net neutrality and how the company doesn’t want to go against it. However, this news didn’t cut ice with the net neutralitysupporters and they decided to down vote the application on the Android and iOS.
The company has come out with a statement after facing a lot of backlash. According to the company report, Flipkart believes in the idea of net neutrality and the e-commerce site will have discussions internally in the next few days to support the cause. At the same time, it will also oversee that the concept of net neutrality materializes in all the companies in India, regardless of the size and services they offer.

Earlier, Anupam Saraph, future designer and former advisor in governance, informatics and strategic Planning, said that by safeguarding net neutrality, enterprises get the advantage to launch their services without any hassle. “They don’t have to ask anybody for permission, and there is no gatekeeper advantage. At the same time, there will be increased agility, making them do things faster,” says Sunil Abraham, executive director, Centre for Internet and Society.
Abraham also said that a panel of experts need to be constituted to oversee, ensure, and audit various ISPs and cable operators for net neutrality. Proposals to spread Internet everywhere need to be scrutinized.
