Flipkart To Invest $2.5b In Building Country-Wide Logistics Network
E-commerce firm Flipkart has recently opened its largest facility in southern Hyderabad as the region contributes 40 per cent to its overall business.
The new facility covers around 2.20 lakh sq area which is their 17th such facility in the country.
The news facility is expected to create 17,000 direct and indirect jobs. The company claims this is the first fully automated warehouse in the country.
The online retailer would spend $500 million over the next four-five years to build a network of 80-100 fulfilment centres across the country. Half of them would come up in tier-II and tier-III towns.
