Garmin has launched its activity tracker vivofit 3 in India today. Priced at Rs 6,999, the tracker features Garmin Move IQ.
Similar to any other activity tracker, vivofit 3 recognizes and captures activities, such as walking, running, biking, swimming and elliptical training automatically. Apart from these, it also has specifications like Move IQ auto activity detection, and intensity minutes. Additionally, it is water resistant up to 50 meters and as per the company, it has a one-year battery life. Post that, the battery can be replaced.
Users can count steps, calories, distance, and intensity minutes using the vivofit 3. The tracker also reminds them of extended periods of inactivity with an audible alert reminder.
It syncs users’ data automatically to the Garmin Connect mobile app, which is a free fitness community. This enables users to analyse their daily activities in a convenient timeline view. The device also tracks sleep patterns and trends.
Once users are on Garmin Connect, they can join online challenges to compete against friends and earn virtual badges. They can also get insights based on data stored on the app, which in turn helps them in setting fitness goals. Users can also compare their performance with that of other like-minded people.
Recently, Garmin had also launched the Forerunner 35 smartwatch also focussed on fitness enthusiasts. It packs a built-in Elevate wrist-based heart rate sensor that monitors heart rate 24X7.
Prior to that, Garmin had also launched its new range of wearables in India, including three activity trackers and a smartwatch. While the fitness tracker line-up includes the vivoactive HR, vivosmart HR+ and vivomove, Forerunner 735XT happens to be a smartwatch.’
