Garmin India has announced vivofit 3 activity tracker. A part of the 
company’s vivo series of trackers, the vivofit 3 adds new features, such as Move IQ (which automatically detects activity patterns) and intensity minutes. Priced at Rs 6,990, Garmin vivofit3 will be exclusively available on Amazon India website.
The vivofit 3 is an all-day wearable that captures activities, such as walking, running, biking, swimming and elliptical training automatically.
According to the company, the device is water resistant and comes with a one-year battery life. Garmin vivofit3 automatically syncs to Garmin Connect, a free online fitness community, enabling users to analyse their daily activities in a timeline view. Users can also track sleep patterns and trends, join online challenges to compete against friends and earn virtual badges.
The online community provides smart wellness insights to help users reach personalized daily goals set up by the device. Based on a user’s current activity level, the device also alerts when personal milestones have been achieved and displays results subsequently. Insights also show users how they are doing in comparison to other people.
The vivofit 3 features a backlit display which shows steps, calories, distance and time. In case a user has been inactive for a long time, the activity tracker moves the display bar and sends audible alerts.
A couple of minutes of activity resets the display bar, reminding users to stay active during the day and counter health risks associated with a sedentary lifestyle. As per the company, its fitness devices are aimed at users from across the sections of society.
