Informatica Positioned Highest and Furthest on Both “Ability to Execute” and “Completeness of Vision” Axes
Informatica, the world’s number one independent software provider focused on delivering transformative innovation for the future of all things data, today announced that Gartner, Inc., a leading IT research and advisory firm, has positioned Informatica as a Leader in its November 2015 Magic Quadrant for Master Data Management of Customer Data Solutions report, based on ability to execute and completeness of vision.
Positioned as a Leader for the sixth consecutive year, Informatica appears highest on the axis for “ability to execute” and farthest to the right on the axis for “completeness of vision” in the 2015 report.

Writing in the report, Gartner Research Vice President Bill O’Kane and Research Director Saul Judah observed, “Trusted master data is increasingly recognized as a prerequisite for the realization of the digital business, and MDM of customer data is central to that requirement.” They further state that, “Businesses of all sizes and in many industries are struggling to maintain a consistent, shareable and accurate single version of customer data across their organizations — a requirement that is growing in importance. With the increasing focus on the digitalization of enterprises, management of their key master data is also becoming more important. The ability to achieve and maintain a single, semantically consistent version of customer master data is crucial for customer-centric organizations.”
According to the Gartner report, “The ability to create, maintain and draw on a single, trusted, shareable version of customer master data is increasingly seen by commercial and noncommercial organizations as essential to support business processes and business decision making. When creating and managing customer master data, many organizations and vendors originally thought that CRM, ERP or industry application systems would solve the problem of inconsistent master data spreading across multiple systems; however, these systems were not designed for that task, and there are often multiple CRM and ERP systems within an enterprise. Many organizations have now invested in creating a new central system to master their customer data, with the majority (an estimated 80%) buying packaged MDM of customer data solutions, as opposed to building the capability themselves.”
The Gartner report also noted, “the importance of MDM to ensuring that any large, non-traditional data source can be effectively incorporated into an organization’s operational and analytical environments cannot be overstated.”
Providing clean, connected and authoritative data across an enterprise, Informatica MDM empowers organizations to analyze, understand and leverage relationships between the people, places and things that are most important to their businesses. In addition to its market-leading, multidomain MDM platform, Informatica offers four master data-fueled applications designed to power revolutionary new approaches to key business processes: Customer 360, Product 360, Supplier 360 and Cloud Customer 360 for Salesforce.
“In today’s age of engagement, enterprises have to step up their game to deliver great customer experiences across every channel and point of contact, with big data adding yet another dimension to customer experience,” said Rob Karel, vice president, Product Strategy and Marketing, Information Quality Solutions, Informatica. “We believe that Informatica’s continued positioning as a Leader in this Gartner Magic Quadrant attests to our ability to deliver the great data required for great customer experiences. As we continue to execute on our MDM vision with innovative business user-focused solutions and enhance our core MDM platform, our customers are on the leading edge of leveraging great data for any business purpose.”
