New Delhi , December 18, 2013 – SafeNet Inc., a global leader in data protection, today announced that Gartner, the world’s leading IT research firm, positioned SafeNet in the Leaders Quadrant of the December 2013 Magic Quadrant for User Authentication. Of the 20 vendors Gartner assessed, SafeNet was identified in the Leaders Quadrant based on the combination of completeness of vision and ability to execute, the two primary criteria for the report.
Gartner expects, “accelerated growth in cloud-based user authentication services among enterprises as multi-tenanted cloud-based services mature, and as cloud computing becomes more widely adopted as a way of delivering business applications and services in general. Gartner predicts that, by year-end 2016, about 30% of enterprises will choose cloud-based services as the delivery option for new or refreshed user authentication implementations — up from about 10% today.”
SafeNet continues to focus on building a next-generation authentication portfolio that enables enterprise organizations to address the rising threat landscape while embracing mobility, the cloud, and beyond. Today, SafeNet’s offering features a service-based authentication platform, various authentication clients for on-premises and cloud deployments, and a broad range of tokens.
“We view SafeNet as a long-term partner in our ability to broaden the range of security services that we offer our customers,” said Nicolas Furgé, head of security services, Orange Business Services. “By adding cloud-based strong authentication to our Orange Business Service offerings, we are able to better address the needs of our enterprise customers who are increasing their adoption of SaaS applications and are looking for solutions that can help them easily and cost-effectively secure access to corporate resources. Combining SafeNet’s advanced products with Orange Business Services’ industrial capabilities and extensive footprint is unique in the market.”
SafeNet’s next-generation approach to user authentication enables the enterprise to minimize risk, comply with stringent data privacy standards, and embrace workforce mobilization in an easy to manage, cost-effective, and future-proof way.
“SafeNet is now designated as a leader for the third consecutive year. This validates our vision and performance as leaders in the authentication market,” said Andrew Young, vice president, authentication product management, SafeNet. “We executed against our top three 2012 priorities—introducing new authentication methods, expanding our ecosystem, and advancing our service-based offering, and our achievement of these goals is explicitly acknowledged in this report.”
