Gartner Technology Analysis of Content Services Platforms (CSP) – SER among the Top 3
The SER Group’s Doxis4 scores well in all use cases of Gartner’s Critical Capabilities for Content Services Platforms and is highly suitable for large content ecosystems and diverse application scenarios. The Doxis4 iECM suite and its intelligent services received particularly high scores in the categories Classification/Categorization and Document Capture/Ingestion.
On November 13, 2017, the internationally renowned analysts Gartner published the Critical Capabilities report, a supplement to the Magic Quadrant for CSP. Of the 21 globally leading systems tested in the report, SER took third place with Doxis4. This ranking places SER and its technology not only ahead of all other European vendors, but also a level above the other “Visionaries” and even ahead of two of the three “Leaders” of the Magic Quadrant for CSP.
Qualified to meet special needs
With 3.66 points out of 5 for Critical Capabilities, SER is significantly above Gartner’s benchmark 3.0 score that means an offering is “good and will meet requirements”. Indeed, as the report reveals, SER’s product suite has additional functionalities that go beyond basic requirements; it is well-suited to organizations with cutting-edge needs. Gartner also analyzes the suitability of a software for various use cases. With Doxis4, SER performs above-average in all use cases and is one of the few that is able to cover every scenario at a high level. “If you are looking for a content services platform that has actually earned the name ‘platform”, then you’ve come to the right place,” says Dr. Gregor Joeris, CTO of the SER Group. Doxis4 received particularly good marks in the use cases “Records Management and Compliance” and “Personal and Team Productivity”. “This very positive evaluation of Doxis4 – particularly when you compare it to the results for big industry players – demonstrates that, technologically speaking, we are on equal footing with the international companies,” comments Dr. Gregor Joeris. “This encourages us to maintain our strong commitment to further developing our products. We are motivated to move forward with the integration of AI technologies into our content services,” he adds.
A “Visionary” in Gartner’s MQ for CSP 2017
In the newly formed Magic Quadrant for Content Services Platforms 2017 that was released in October, Gartner placed the SER Group among the “Visionaries”. This new Magic Quadrant for CSP joins together the previously separate MQs for ECM and EFSS (enterprise file sync and share). As companion research to the MQ, Gartner publishes the Critical Capabilities for Content Services Platforms. In contrast to the MQ, which focuses primarily on a vendor’s ability to execute and completeness of vision, the Critical Capabilities takes a closer look at the technological attributes of vendor offerings. Gartner analyzes 19 vendors from the MQ with a total of 21 offerings.
