German 3D Printing Systems Maker Voxeljet Enters India
One of the leading makers of industrial 3D printing, Voxeljet, has opened its unit in Pune, India. The unit in Pune will be aimed at expanding its global reach. Voxelight stated that the increasing popularity and acceptance of 3D printing technology has led to the growth in interest for 3D printers and on-demand parts services by the Indian industry.
According to Voxeljet’s COO Rudolf Franz, “After the UK, the US and China, the subsidiary in India represents the next big step in Voxeljet’s global growth strategy.” Voxeljet is gearing to create a strong market position in India.
Nidhi Shah is the appointed Managing Director of the Indian unit. The company is also planning to set up a service center for the on-demand manufacturing of 3D-printed molds over the coming one and a half years. Its first phase will be primarily focussed on the development of sales and service structure. The company will also be attending an international foundry exhibition which will be taking place in Coimbatore from January 2016.
