GETIT has developed a model wherein it partners with Telcos in international markets to enable a host of services on their networks – including Local Search, Classifieds, Deals/Discounts and eventually e-Commerce.
FINDIT in Malaysia is the first of GETIT’s international launches and it is already set to be Malaysia’s largest digital directory service. For the launch of FINDIT services, an experiential event was held in Kuala Lumpur earlier this month whereT. Kugan, Maxis’ Head of Digital Services, said, “Searching for information on mobile devices is the second most popular internet activity after emails, with 46% of users using their mobile devices as a primary search tool. FINDIT is a service that is therefore relevant to our modern day lifestyles, especially when we are constantly on the go. Importantly, this service puts the power in our customers’ hands and allows them to always stay connected.”
For consumers, FINDIT provides access to information on 175,000 business listings in over 2,500 categories, including location maps and driving directions, directly from their mobile phones. Consumers can also enjoy special offers and promotions from various merchants listed in the directory, which they can redeem immediately. FINDIT is available for download via mobile app, website, WAP portal for both Android and iOS users.
For businesses, FINDIT serves as an important tool to help increase visibility to a much wider market, capitalizing on the popular mobile platform to connect with their own customers. FINDIT’s location-based feature also enables users to search for product and services closest to their location.

GETIT will also be expanding its services in other countries in partnership with Telcos. “We are working on similar win-win models in other international markets. Each market is different and the specific nuances have to be understood well. We focus on adapting the model such that we create a very useful service for the market and immense value for the Telco / partners,” added Gupta.
