Gionee has launched a new smartphone in its home country of China. Dubbed F5, the handset is priced at 1,799 Yuan and will be available in Gold and Rose Gold colour options. The F5 flaunts a metal unibody and is equipped with a fingerprint sensor located on the front panel, below the display. In terms of specifications, the Gionee F5 features a 5.3-inch 2.5D curved HD display of 720×1280 pixel resolution. Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, it is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, with support for microSD cards of up to 128GB in size.
The dual-SIM smartphone has a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front snapper for selfies. Backed by a 4,000mAh battery, the handset offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS as major connectivity options.
Last year, Gionee launched its M2017 smartphone in China with a battery capacity of 7,000mAh. Running Amigo3.5 UI based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, the Gionee M2017 sports a 5.7-inch Quad HD display of 1440×2560 pixel resolution. Under-the-hood, the smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor paired with 6GB of RAM. There are two internal storage options available – 128GB and 256GB.
For imaging duties, the Gionee M2017 comes with a dual-rear camera setup comprised of two sensors – 12MP and 13MP. This also gives the smartphone 2x optical zoom and 8x digital zoom functionality. There’s also an 8MP front-facing snapper included in the mix.
