Gionee has launched expanded its premium smartphone range with the launch of M2017 in China. The highlight of Gionee M2017 is its massive 7,000mAh battery capacity. The smartphone has two 3500mAh batteries fitted inside.
The smartphone is priced at CNY 6,999 (roughly Rs 68,000), there is another variant that costs CNY 16,999 (roughly Rs 1,66,000).
Running Amigo3.5 UI based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, the Gionee M2017 sports a 5.7-inch QHD (2560×1440 pixels) resolution OnCell AMOLED display. Under-the-hood, the M2017 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor, which was introduced in October this year. The SoC is a successor to Snapdragon 652 and has 10% better performance. The processor comes clubbed with Adreno 510 GPU and 6GB LPDDR3 RAM. This also makes the device one of the first by Gionee to feature 6GB RAM with dual-rear cameras.
Talking about cameras, Gionee M2017 comes with dual-rear camera setup, which includes 12MP and 13MP sensors with 2x optical zoom and 8x digital zoom and LED flash. There’s also an 8MP front-facing camera. The smartphone is capable of recording videos in 4K resolution.
On the storage front, the M2017 comes in two variants – 128GB and 256GB. There’s no microSD card slot. With M2017, the company has joined the likes of Apple, Motorola and HTC by ditching 3.5mm headphone jack. There’s a fingerprint sensor on the front, embedded on the home button.
Measuring 155.2×77.6×10.78mm, the dual-SIM Gionee M2017 weighs 238 grams and is available in Gold and Black colour options. The smartphone’s body is made using metal and leather.
The connectivity options of the handset include 4G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB Type-C and USB OTG support.
