Come June and consumers utilizing the Chrome Operating System of technology giant Google will have access to all the applications of Android’s Play Store. As per reports Google plans to bring all its 1.5 million Play store applications to Chrome OS, strengthening the tie up between the two Operating Systems. Google also claims that there will be almost zero effort required from the developers to tailor the Android applications for Chrome OS. The OS will also boast of Android’s native features, including sharing and intent systems on cross platforms. The company has said that it aims to fetch the users with a seamless hands-on experience. Google’s ‘M53 Dev’ version of touch screen Chromebooks will be the first to feature the PlayStore applications and support for keyboard enabled devices will come thereafter. An extensive roll out of the feature however is only expected to take place by the end of the ongoing year. The company is also warranting enough control of the feature for administrators of Chrome OS to prevent users from downloading applications which may hamper the productivity of a business or distract students in a school. Businesses which are cautious of the new upgrade will still have the option of continuing with the old version of OS, while IT administrators will have the option of restricting the download of irrelevant applications. With this the new edition of Chrome OS will now sport two PlayStores including Google Play and the existing Chrome Web Store. Google also confirms that the Chrome store will continue to include Chrome extensions and themes.
