Google Enhances Gemini Live with New Multi-Tasking Features and Media Sharing

At Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event, alongside the unveiling of the new Galaxy S25 series, Google introduced significant updates to its Gemini Live AI Assistant. The new capabilities expand Gemini’s functionality across Android devices, including the Galaxy S25, S24, and Pixel 9 series, with plans for broader rollout to other Android models in the coming weeks.

One of the most exciting updates is the ability to share images, files, and YouTube videos directly within Gemini Live conversations. This new feature allows users to share a photo, for example, a picture of a dog, and receive feedback on the image’s composition. This addition enhances Gemini’s utility, making it not just a tool for text-based queries but also a more interactive and multimedia-driven assistant.

Further enhancing its multi-tasking capabilities, Gemini Live now supports multi-extension prompts, enabling users to seamlessly manage tasks across a range of apps like Gmail, Google Maps, Spotify, and Samsung’s suite of apps, including Calendar, Notes, and Reminders. Users can now save AI-generated responses directly to Google Keep or Samsung Notes, streamlining workflows and increasing productivity.

Additionally, Google teased an exciting future feature: Project Astra, which will integrate screen-sharing and video-streaming capabilities within Gemini. This will further position Gemini as a powerful tool for productivity, particularly on the Galaxy S25 devices.

These updates underscore Gemini Live’s evolution into a versatile assistant that not only helps with tasks but also integrates deeply with everyday apps and media, enhancing user experiences across Android platforms.
