Google and other tech companies have done huge lobbying so that the restrictions are eased but the exact opposite has happened.
In Recent Times, a struggle was on by Chinese exporters so that they can place Google ads in order to appeal more buyers overseas. In Beijing biotechnology researchers faced trouble when they tried to rectify an expensive microscope this summer as they couldn’t find out the online instructions to do so. International companies also faced difficulties while exchanging Gmail messages and couldn’t set up meetings in Google Calendar.
As per a US energy executive in China, Jeffrey Philips, this kind of strict regulations are having a negative impact on productivity. Now the pain has spread further as two messaging services, Line and Kakao Talk, were blocked in China, along with Didi, Talk Box and Vower. Twitter and Facebook have already been slammed inside China. Google and other tech companies have done huge lobbying so that the limitations are eased but the exact opposite has happened. It’s also impacting the business scenario in China.
Google Drive has also been difficult to use this summer, hence most employees found sharing files and documents as a challenging job. Google’s China troubles are nothing new as it began in 2010. A very insignificant portion of Google activities are allowed in the country. Google Play is also partially accessible in China. So it’s getting more and more difficult for Google to survive in China. Google is facing more and more issues in China now. The Chinese government has grown stricter about their internal security and in the process they have made their Internet communications policies more rigid. Now this situation has brought in more complexities for Google.
