Last month Android received an update in Google Hangouts and now the company has released an update for iOS users as well. Hangouts has gone through several enhancements in the new update, keeping in the line with the company’s promise.
The update has been named as 2.5.0 update and it’s smarter in case of iOS devices than Android version. New stickers and Google Voice integration are some of the new features in the iOS update for Google Hangouts. Smart sharing suggestions have also been introduced with the new update.
If a person asks you about your current location the app detects it automatically and with a single tap you can share the information. The app also allows users to set a status update now. It’s a similar feature to the likes of BBM and WhatsApp. It has also adopted the ‘last seen’ timeframe like we can see in WhatsApp.
Users can also access SMS and voicemail via Google Voice account. Google has also improved the video calling feature in Hangouts and some bugs have been fixed too. The new update in Hangouts, version 2.5.0, can be downloaded from the app store, and it’s compatible with iOS 7.0 or higher devices.
Earlier reports suggested that users of Google Hangouts will make free international calls for a minute. Users will be allowed to instant message, make free voice calls domestically, make video chats and so on. Google Hangouts is available for download on Android, iOS and desktops too.
