Google Releases An All New Messenger App For Android Users, which can be grabbed by interested users from the Google Play Store. While looking at the trends we can easily make out that the Google’s own Hangouts app is doing really well in the market, but despite that fact we are not yet clear about Google’s aim behind releasing another messaging app.
However the launch didn’t really came as a surprise for us, since the rumours were already flowing about the tech giant to be working on its own messaging app to give a tough competition to WhatsApp.
Let’s get a quick overview of what interesting does the new app has to offer! With just SMS/MMS facility, we cannot really find any out-of-the-box feature in the new app yet, but we are sure that Google must be having some plans to go with it further.
This app is coming pre-installed with latest Android 5.0 Lollipop and can also be downloaded by all those devices running on Android 4.1 or higher version. The new app runs amazingly along with the already available hangouts app and can also tap into users existing SMS and MMS. The app involves cool new ‘material design’ look and also allows the user to send/receive audio messages.
The official description also points out at allowing the users to block SMS senders, emoji support colorful message threads (discussions) along with message archiving. The app has already received the rating of 4.4 stars by over 5,000 people on Google Play. There must be something very interesting, give it a try using this download link, all you need is a device running Android 4.1+ (Jelly Bean).
We are not yet sure if Google is planning to take this app further to other platforms as well apart from the Android.
