Google is extending the availability of Circle to Search to a wider range of smartphones, foldable devices, and tablets

Google is expanding the availability of its innovative feature, Circle to Search, which allows users to conduct web searches using images, to a broader range of devices. Initially introduced on the Galaxy S24 series of smartphones, Circle to Search was later rolled out to Pixel 8 and Pixel 7 series devices. Now, Google is extending this functionality to include additional devices such as the Pixel 7a, Pixel 6a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and the Galaxy S23 series smartphones through the OneUI 6.1 update.

In a recent announcement on X, Google CEO Sundar Pichai revealed, “Starting this week, we’re bringing Circle to Search to more Pixel and Samsung phones, foldables, and tablets. And soon, you can use Circle to Search to instantly translate whatever’s on your screen without switching apps.” Furthermore, Google has confirmed plans to introduce Circle to Search on upcoming devices such as the Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet.

Samsung is also collaborating with Google to enable Circle to Search on its devices. The feature will be available on the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S23 Ultra, and the Galaxy S23 FE smartphones, along with devices like the Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy Z Fold5, and the Galaxy Tab S9 series tablets in the near future.

Circle to Search revolutionizes the way users search the web by allowing them to initiate searches using images or subjects. To activate this feature, users simply need to long-press on the home button and then draw a circle around the desired subject. This prompts the device to provide similar product listings and relevant details from the Google search engine.

One of the key advantages of Circle to Search is its ability to simplify the process of identifying and purchasing products seen on social media platforms or in videos. By leveraging this feature, users can seamlessly transition from discovering a product to exploring purchase options without leaving their current browsing session.

As of now, Circle to Search is exclusive to Google and Samsung devices. However, with Google’s ongoing efforts to expand its availability, it is expected that more Android smartphones will gain access to this feature in the future.

Overall, Google’s expansion of Circle to Search to a wider range of devices signifies the company’s commitment to enhancing the user experience and making information more accessible through innovative technologies. With the inclusion of additional smartphones, foldables, and tablets, more users will be able to take advantage of this convenient and intuitive search feature in their daily interactions with digital content.
