Google Photos Launches Paid Colour Pop Feature

Google has presented the latest editor on Android with Artificial Intelligence suggestions and more granular controls to let the users edit their pictures directly in the application in October. Suggestions such as Enhance and Colour Pop were added, which permitted users to make vicissitudes to their photos. Now, a spokesperson from the company has confirmed that it is recently adding the latest take on its Colour Pop feature in which users can add to any picture that they want, with no restrictions. To use this latest paid Colour Pop feature, users will have to purchase the Google 1 subscription. The report has suggested that Google is planning to release more tools in the editing suite that might need a paid plan.

The color pop feature is locked behind a Google One paywall. The company has responded that Colour Pop is made available for free for pictures with depth information, but for using the feature on any other photos, users will have to purchase the google 1 membership.

As per the spokesperson, in Google Photos, color pop is a feature that remains to be available for anyone to practice, with no cost, for photos with depth information like portrait mode. According to the ongoing release that started at the beginning of 2020, Google One members can use the feature to even more photos of people, counting those with no depth information.

The company is searching to add extra premium features to Photos in the coming years. XDA Developers has dug into the code of the 5.18 update and has found numerous strings that look to prompt users of premium editing tools to have access to Google 1 membership. The report has said that it found suggestions of prompts such as, as a member of Google One, users get access to additional editing features and many others.

There is no precision on what these latest premium editing features might be, and the search giant desired to offer lucidity on that soon. Google has already begun to add Colour Pop for any picture behind a paywall. Customers should see more such premium editing tools within the application in the coming years.
