Google Play Introduces ‘Pre-Register’ Option For Apps & Games
Google Play is all set to establish a ‘pre-register’ option for apps and games. This new feature would enable Android users to set up an alert for new Android apps so that they could grasp it as soon as it hits the store. The pre-register option will ping your device with a notification as soon as it is available to download or procure.
Apparently, the upcoming Terminator Genisys: Revolution, based on the latest film from the never-ending Terminator franchise, would be the first app to have a pre-register option. However, the choice is up to developers, to post or not to post their apps to the store early with a pre-register button.
Pre-registration doesn’t force you to download the app, it just sends across a notification. Hence, it lets customers know when new titles are coming and helps to build hype for an upcoming app or game. However, the new feature will not be able to tell how long you’ll have to wait for that title to arrive or what will be the price. Moreover, there would be no mention of device compatibility. But we do hope that Google would soon add these details.
