ITVOICE NEWS: Google’s Android One smartphone got exposed to the public two days before the official launch via Flipkart website. The Android One was announced in the annual Google I/O event, it mentioned that the low cost phone manufacturers like Spice, Karbonn and Micromax will feature it as the operating system.
The official date of release for Google Android One was decided to be on 15 September. But two days before the actual release date, Flipkart already had the Spice Android One Dream UNO Mi-498 device displayed on its website, although the post was removed later. It seems that the website has the exclusive rights to sell the spice smartphone if not all Android One devices.
Spice One Dream UNO Mi-498 phone is priced at Rs. 6,999. It is one of the three Android One OEM partners as announced at the Google IO conference in June. The smartphone has 11.43-cm (4.5-inch) IPS FWVGA (480x854p) screen.
To talk about the specifications, the smartphone sports:
• 11.43-cm (4.5-inch) IPS FWVGA (480x854p) screen
• 1.3 GHz MediaTek quad-core processor
• Dual-SIM connectivity

While Spice knocks out the market with the new Android One, the other two partners, Micromax and Karbonn seem to have kept their product under the wraps. But the teasing continues on the social networking sites. The Micromax phone has set Amazon India as its exclusive market and Karbonn’s phone will make their deal on Snapdeal exclusively.
Google’s aim of bringing Android One programme is to make the Android OS available to the customers at an affordable price. Google executive, who heads Chrome and Android division at the company, Sundar Pichai, will be here in India on Monday for the launch of Android One. The phone will be available for purchase post 3:30pm IST on 15 September.
