Original and iconic graffiti legend, Chaz Bojorquez has spent the last nine months with his team of diverse artists and tech savvy experts in perfecting an interactive and innovative website designed to flow all of his works, past and present to his massive audience via slideshow galleries showcasing the range and diversity of the artist including printmaking, paintings and professional design-work. The website also serves as a one stop shop where fans can purchase works and merchandise directly from the artist.
It all started in November 2012 when Chaz asked his Northeast LA artist friend, Dave Tourjé (L.A. Aboriginal, Chouinard Foundation) to design the website. Though Tourjé is primarily known as a fine artist, he had recently won a major design award for his design work on the Chouinard Foundation website. “Dave and I are both artists that grew up in Highland Park. He gets me and all the subculture that surrounds us. It’s just Karma,” says Bojorquez.
Once the project started, Dave brought in long time collaborator and graphic artist Andrés Cuervo (of Northeast Los Angeles Clothing Co.) to help execute the vision of this street-oriented piéce de résistance. Mike Falkow of 21TOWIN joined to round out the team in order to create and build the site for its highly anticipated launch.
Unorthodox, urban and cool are the only words to describe this site- an online work of art in itself, which combines the minds of old school artists and new age web innovators.
