HCLTech has finalized the acquisition of assets from Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s Communications Technology Group for $225 . This strategic move strengthens HCLTech’s presence in the telecom sector, adding cutting-edge intellectual property, advanced engineering expertise, and access to key partnerships with 20 of the top 30 global Communication Service Providers (CSPs).
The acquisition also includes the transfer of 1,500 employees and 700 contractors from CTG, ensuring a seamless integration of expertise and capabilities across regions such as Europe, the Americas, and Asia-Pacific.
HCLTech CEO C. Vijayakumar described the deal as transformative, stating, “We are enhancing our telecom practice to address the rapidly evolving needs of the global telecom market while deepening our relationships with leading CSPs.”
HPE CEO Antonio Neri welcomed the partnership, emphasizing HCLTech’s ability to unlock the full potential of CTG’s legacy and assets. The transaction is expected to close within nine months, subject to regulatory approvals. This acquisition highlights HCLTech’s ambition to lead in emerging technologies and expand its footprint in the global telecom industry.
