Chinese smartphone maker Huawei’s sub brand Honor has sent out invitations for a January 24 event, where it is slated to launch its 6X smartphone in India. It has now been revealed that the smartphone will be exclusive to Amazon’s India website. A dedicated Amazon page, which is yet to go live, mentions “You’ve Got Swag” followed by the “Honor 6X” text. It reconfirms January 24 as the launch date of the handset. Honor’s 6X smartphone, features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution display with 2.5D curved glass. It runs on the company’s home-brewed octa-core Kirin 655 processor clubbed with Mali T830-MP2 GPU.Similar to the Honor 8, the 6X’s dual-rear camera setup comes with a 6P Lens and Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) technology. While the first camera has a 12MP sensor, the secondary rear camera has a 2MP one. On the front, the smartphone features an 8MP camera for taking selfies.
The smartphone also has a fingerprint sensor at the back placed right below the camera. The device supports 4G VoLTE, and is backed by a 3,340mAh battery with fast-charging ability. It runs on EMUI 4.1 which is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, measures 150.9×76.2×8.2mm, and weighs 162 grams.
From its specifications, the 6X does not differ much from the Honor 8 which is priced at Rs 29,990. The latter comes with dual 12MP rear cameras, an 8MP front-facing camera, a 5.2-inch full HD 2.5D curved display, and an octa-core Kirin 950 processor clubbed with 3GB/4GB RAM. It also has 32GB/64GB onboard storage options with can be expanded with the help of a microSD card.
