How to block a number on iPhones and Android phones

With technology taking over all our lives, it has become much easier to stay in touch. Activities like writing letters, standing in queues to call someone sound awfully primitive in this time and age. With smartphones, you don’t have to wait to speak to the people you want anymore. While that is great for the loved ones in your lives, what about the ones you don’t want? All of us receive many spam calls on a daily basis and no one we know looks forward to them. If you’re looking to escape these calls, here is a quick guide on how to block a number on your smartphone:

Block a number on Android:
* Open the phone app and go to call history
* Go to the number you wish to block and long press on it
* You will see a drop-down menu with basic shortcut options
* Select Block number
* You will see a confirmation message specifying that “you will no longer receive calls or texts from this number.”
* Tap on block and the number will be blocked.

In order to see the list of numbers blocked on your Android phone, open phone app> Tap on the three dots on the top right corner > Go to settings > Call blocking. Here you will find the list of the blocked number and if you wish to remove a contact from here, you can simply click on the cross against that number.

Block a number on iOS:
* Open the phone app and go to call history
* Go to the number you wish to block and press information
* Scroll down and tap on ‘Block this caller’
* Tap on block and the number will be blocked.
If you wish to see the list of numbers blocked on your iOS device, go to Settings> Tap on Phone> Blocked.
