HP has announced the seizure of over Rs.35.5 crore worth of counterfeit print cartridges and components by local authorities in 46 cities across 18 states in India, protecting customers from fraudulent products.
“With counterfeit HP print cartridges, customers purchase what they often assume to be a genuine HP product, but they instead receive a cartridge that provides them with an inferior print experience. HP is committed to protect our customers and ensure they receive the right cartridge that prints in high quality when they choose Original HP print cartridges,” said HP spokesperson.
The authorities raided and took legal actions against manufacturers and sellers in Maharashtra, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Assam, Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Haryana states. In total, they seized over 18,300 toner cartridges and ink cartridges as well as 327,000 counterfeit components from January to mid-October 2015. HP collaborated with local law-enforcement agencies to make this action possible.
