HTC has released its new mid-range smartphone, Desire 650, in 
Taiwan. The smartphone, along with its specifications, has been listed on the company website. Priced at around $170 (roughly Rs 11,600), the handset will be available early next month. The firm is yet to reveal details about its availability elsewhere.
The Desire 650 runs HTC Sense UI based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The single-SIM handset features a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) resolution TFT LCD display. It is backed by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clubbed with a 2GB RAM.
The device offers an inbuilt storage of 16GB which can be further expanded up to 2TB with a microSD card. On the optics front, the HTC Desire 650 features a 13MP rear camera with BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture and LED flash along with a 5MP front-facing snapper with f/2.8 aperture.
On the connectivity front, the Desire 650 houses support for 4G LTE, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS+GLONASS, Wi-Fi and micro-USB 2.0. Backed by a 2,200mAh battery, the handset claims to offer up to 17.5 hours and 28.5 days on 3G and standby respectively.
The smartphone measures 146.9×70.9×8.4mm, weighs 140 grams and supports Hi-Res audio technology. It also houses HTC’s BoomSound-based front-facing speakers.
The unveiling of the Desire 650 comes just a day after the launch of the HTC Evo 10 smartphone. The latter runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS and misses out on the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack. A USB Type-C port replaces it.
It also features a 5.5-inch QHD 1440×2560 pixel resolution display backed by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB RAM. It also includes 32GB internal storage, which can be expanded further with a microSD card. There is a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera as well.
