There is a lot of activity going within HTC. With top executives leaving the company and their sales figure witnessing a jolt, the company has reportedly decided to re-jig the organisation in the US.
As part of this reorganisation, the company has developed a new business unit dubbed Emerging Devices business. This new unit will focus on developing innovative products. Jason Mackenzie has been appointed to head its US operations, according to The Wall Street Journal report.
While no additional information is available on this new business unit, HTC has confirmed the news to WSJ, which has also got hold of an internal mail.
This is what was written in the internal official mail: “Effective immediately, in addition to his current duties in supporting me with global corporate strategy, Jason Mackenzie will lead HTC America. Mike Woodward will lead Emerging Devices, a newly established business unit that will focus on innovative new HTC products and global distribution strategies.
“I want to thank these two outstanding leaders for their contributions to the success of the HTC One so far. But as you know and would expect, we also need to do more. With the success of the One, we have many new opportunities both to expand current sales as well as to enter new distribution channels with new business models.”
