HTC has enterend into a new product category with the launch of its small handheld action camera, tagged for Rs. $199 in the US.
IT Voice News: Taiwan based company, HTC, has entered a new product category with the launch of a small handheld action camera, named as HTC RE on Tuesday in New York. HTC touted it to be a “remarkable little camera”, owing to its take-it anywhere feature. It is priced at $199 in the US.
HTC’s RE camera is a small cylindrical shaped, smoking- pipe like device, which very much resembles a small periscope. The camera could easily be carried anywhere and it even supports the water resistance (IP57) feature. The HTC RE camers sports 16MP CMOS sensor and also has the ability to record Full HD (1080p) videos with time lapse and slow motion, to be precise, it will allow the user to shoot videos in 1080p at up to 30fps video or 720p at up to 120fps slow-motion video.
The camera will support 146 degree wide-angle lens an a remote view finder app, which will allow the user to handle it from a smart device. The camera is available in four colour variants including, teal, orange, navy blue, and white.
While being a perfect action camera, it will also allow the users to mount it easily even while doing extreme actions and capture amazing pictures. It is backed by 820mAh battery, allowing to shoot a Full HD video recording for over 1 hour and 40 min continuously.
It supports 8GB of internal memory which can be further extended up to 128GB via a microSD card slot. On connectivity front, it supports, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0 and Bluetooth v4.0 support. It will compete with the like of the GoPro Hero 4 which has just hit the market.
