HTC users and fans will be excited to know that the next edition of One M8 is coming very soon to the market, as it might be launched along with other devices on 1 March. The Verge has reported that HTC has already started rolling out invitations for their event at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015, which will be held in Barcelona, Spain.
The invite, as reported by The Verge, has a starry sky, with captions – “utopia in progress” and “Join us to see what’s next”. There is no specific name of any smartphone in the invitation but the invite looks a grand one which hints that the Taiwanese smartphone maker is all set to reveal their next flagship at this event.
Last year HTC launched their premium Android smartphone, One M8, which is powered by 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core CPU and 2GB RAM. The smartphone was equipped with gesture-based controls as well as an improved version of Sense 6 UI. The next iteration has been codenamed as One M9 and it’s supposed to feature premium design and features, similar to its predecessor.
@upleaks has reported that from this year HTC will not opt for their M codenames anymore and One M9 will be called ‘Hima’. HTC Hima is expected to sport a 12.7-cm (5-inch) display with an octa core Snapdragon 801 SoC, 3GB RAM, Cat6 LTE capabilities, 20.7MP rear camera, 13 megapixel front camera and also 16-, 32- and 64GB storage options. The leaked specification list suggests it will have a 2840mAh battery too. @upleaks also says that HTC Hima Ace Plus is also in making and a wearable may also be launched with these smartphones.
