Huawei has announced that 12,000 units of its budget Honor Holly smartphone

Huawei has announced that 12,000 units of its budget Honor Holly smartphone will go on sale on Monday via its exclusive online partner, Flipkart.

The Chinese company also revealed that it sold 10,000 units of the Huawei Honor Holly smartphone on Thursday in less than 10 hours. In a tweet, Huawei late Friday said, “Honor Holly is currently out of stock, but fret not! It will be back on Flipkart from 8th December 2014.”

The Honor Holly smartphone, priced at Rs. 6,999, was launched in October alongside the budget Honor X1 tablet, which is priced at Rs. 19,999. Prior to this, the company had offered 15,000 units of its Honor Holly smartphone for sale in late October via Flipkart.

The Honor Holly smartphone has been launched in a segment that is primarily dominated by three smartphones in India, namely the Motorola Moto E priced at Rs. 6,999; the Xiaomi Redmi 1S at Rs. 5,999, and Asus ZenFone 4 A400CG that comes at Rs. 5,999. Of course, there are also the Google-backed Android One smartphones that were recently launched in India – the Micromax Canvas A1, Karbonn Sparkle V, and Spice Dream Uno – and priced starting Rs. 6,299.

To refresh, the Huawei Honor Holly runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat with the company’s new Emotion UI on top. It features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) LCD display offering a pixel density of 294ppi; 1.3GHz quad-core (unspecified chipset) processor; 1GB of RAM; dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) support; 16GB of built-in storage, expandable storage support via microSD card (up to 32GB); 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and Samsung BSI sensor; 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 2000mAh battery.
