Huawei’s sub-brand Honor is all geared up for its first smartphone launch of 2017 in India. The company will be launching its Honor 6X smartphone, today at an event in New Delhi.
Honor organized a press preview event for the smartphone in India. The handset was also showcased at the recently concluded CES show, held in Las Vegas, USA.
The Huawei Honor 6X features a 5.5-inch Full HD display of 1080×1920 pixel resolution with 2.5D curved glass. It’s powered by Huawei’s own octa-core Kirin 655 SoC paired with a Mali T830-MP2 GPU.
Like the earlier-launched Honor 8, the Huawei Honor 6X has a dual-camera setup at the back. This is comprised of a 12MP module and a 2MP module, in addition to Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) and LED flash. There’s also an 8MP selfie-shooter.
The Honor 6X comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor placed below the cameras. The 4G VoLTE supporting smartphone is backed by a 3,340mAh battery with fast-charging support. It runs EMUI 4.1 skin based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and will be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat soon.
Looking at the specifications, the Honor 6X is not much different from the Honor 8. Priced at Rs 29,990, the Honor 8 comes with dual 12MP rear cameras and an 8MP front-facing camera. It has a 5.2-inch Full HD display and is powered by a Kirin 950 chipset paired with 3GB/4GB of RAM. The smartphone also has 32GB/64GB of internal storage and supports microSD cards.
