Huawei To Launches Its Own Operating System-‘Kirin’

huawei purpleChinese mobile handset maker Huawei may soon drop Android and release its own mobile operating system. If the reports are to be believed, Huawei is reportedly working on Kirin, its own operating system. Developed internally by Huawei, Kirin may replace some Android products in the long run. Interestingly, the announcement comes after Google chooses Huawei as the next smartphone manufacturer for its Nexus devices.

According to a report published by Gizmo China, Huawei has been working on the new Kirin OS for more than three years in Huawei’s laboratory. The report further reveals that Huawei’s operating system is all set to function with the firm’s own chip, Kirin processor. Also, Huawei may soon launch a new smartphone running on Kirin.

Apparently, Huawei isn’t the first smartphone maker who is venturing into its own operating system. Earlier this year, Samsung had revealed its plans to introduce more Tizen-based devices. OnePlus also launched OxygenOS and Cyanogen hopes to make a version of Android which would not be dependent on Google.
