Philips Hue users will be able to enjoy the Times Square Ball festivities live this New Year from the comfort of their home. This will be possible by synchronising their Philips Hue lights to the ball as it is dropped. The new feature known as the Hue Fireworks in the Philip Hue app developed by iMakeStuff, Philips Hue lights will be following the changing Philips LED bulbs in the ball as 2015 turns to 2016. You need to simply choose the ‘Times Square Ball’ feature in the Hue Fireworks app which can be sourced from both Apple and Android stores at a nominal price of $1.99. Then the user needs to join the last two minute countdown for experiencing the same dynamic, color-changing fun that illuminates Times Square. According to Amy Huntington, President of Philips Lighting Americas. “Bringing together the connected lighting experience that Philips Hue offers with the Times Square Ball drop – one of the most well-known lighting moments in the world – demonstrates the possibilities to create immersive and memorable moments with light.” Philips, this year, is inviting people to share their personal, celebratory moments with the chance to win Philips LED lighting product bundles. One can post their photo on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram showing how light can enhance your celebratory moments using #MyPhilipsNYEMoment #sweepstakes.
