MSAI, a leading telecommunication solutions and services provider involved in developing standard solutions for the mobile devices, today announced the launch of I Feel SafeTM Panic Button for all Android mobile phones and soon for all feature phones also. I Feel SafeTM Panic Button is a revolutionary idea of combining the hardware of the mobile phone with the Android application – this panic button instantly complements with the vision of the government to reduce the crimes against women, child and anyone in distress in India. Government has recently announced that the panic button will be mandatory from January 1 2017.
Users don’t have to wait till 2017 to use the Panic button on your mobile phone to alert the law enforcement agencies. Now you can press the power button of any of your Android phones 5 times repeatedly to activate I Feel Safe™ application. You don’t even have to open the lock of your Android smart phone to trigger the alert. Once activated by pressing the panic button, the application will quickly send the distress message with the coordinates of your location via SMS to your loved ones and it will also make an alert call to the police. It will also start giving the map coordinates every one minute in explicit longitude and latitude coordinates which in turn can map out the route to give an accurate road map of crime in motion. This dynamic application will keep on alerting until it is turned off by the user.
“This ‘Women Safety only a Button Away’ is a connected digital response to a person’s plight in distress. It is aptly using the most valuable instrument in today’s connected life, which is a mobile phone, to combat crimes against women, terror threats, kidnapping discreetly,” says Ms Bhawna Kumari, Business Head of MSAI.
I feel Safe™ comes in handy for the potential victims. If they sense a threat, with a press of their android mobile phone power button multiple times it will in turn trigger silent alarms to the law enforcement officers and even alert the loved ones with exact longitude and latitude coordinates which can help avoid the crime if the help reaches in time.
This seamless coordination effort helps the police to create a more efficient system of protecting Indian citizens in most dire need.
This panic button will also let the police know who the emergency contacts are so that the police can contact them instantly to get any feedback of the person in distress and accurately get to them at a faster pace during the emergent need of the hour. Most crimes have a high successful rate of avoidance if the Police can get to them at a much faster pace usually within the hour.
Ms Bhawna further added, “I personally took a conscious decision to do something about women’s safety when my daughter Amulya was born two day after the Nirbhaya’s incident on Dec 16th 2014. On one side I felt remorse with the Nirbhaya’s situation which had gripped the entire nation, On the other I welcomed the bundle of Joy in our family. Looking at the twinkles of Amulya’s eyes, gave me strength, I took a pledge to make a difference in women’s safety.”
Safety and growing technology are key part of this ever growing mobile industry, which is one of the biggest contributor to the connected billion citizens of this proud nation.
