ICANN 64th Public Meeting in Kobe, Japan

ICANN holds 3 public meetings each calendar year in different regions of the world. ICANN public meetings are a central principle of ICANN‘s multistakeholder model because they provide a venue for progressing policy work, conducting outreach, exchanging best practices, conducting business deals, learning about ICANN, and interacting with other members of the ICANN Community, Board and Organization. Usually comprised of more than 400 different sessions, these meetings are the focal point for individuals and representatives of the various ICANN stakeholder groups to introduce and discuss issues related to ICANN policy development.

 

 

 

 

 

 

This year’s first public meeting in the Asia-Pacific region will be held in Kobe, Japan. The meeting will be held from 9-14 March 2019 and will be hosted by the Japan Network Information Center.

ICANN64 Local Host Committee (LHC) is responsible in preparation of the ICANN64 Meeting and for fulfilling responsibilities of a local host. The LHC is constituted of domain name registries and registrars, as well as companies and associations from ICT industry in Japan. Also, The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications acts as an observer in the committee and provides full support to make ICANN64 Kobe meeting a success.
