On the 10th of March in the Portopia Hall, Newcomers day was celebrated to majorly welcome all the first time attendees in ICANN
This was for the people who are new to the ICANN community, new to the ICANN meeting week or returning to ICANN after a period of time away and in need of a refresher, this day was for them. The Newcomer Day Program included a series of informative, interactive discussions about ICANN and the Internet ecosystem held in a casual atmosphere led by staff and community members.
Ms Deborah Escalera handled the Newcomers Day program and she talked about the ICANN community how one can contribute and be an active member. She further explained several things about ICANN and how it is changing the internet world that we use daily, it was followed by an interactive discussion amongst the presenter and the attendees to remove all the queries or doubts in the minds of newcomers. Giveaways were also arranged for the newcomers.
