ITVoice News: Idea Cellular has introduced two new dual-SIM 3G smartphones, the Magna and Magna L which are priced at Rs 4,999 and Rs 6,250 respectively. Along with the launch of new smartphones, the telecom operator has also offered a bundled deal for all new Idea 3G smartphones buyers.
The users can avail 16GB 3G data, worth Rs. 3,200, with a Rs 261 recharge- converting to 4GB of 3G data every month for the initial four months. Also, the company has announced a free subscription of Idea TV for 4 months. Idea has specified that the new 3G budget smartphones are aimed at young students, professionals and first time smartphone users.
The Idea Magna is powered by supports a dual-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz and sports 10.16-cm (4-inch) display, 5MP rear camera and VGA front camera. Whereas Idea Magna L is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor and sports 11.43-cm (4.5 inch) display along with 5MP rear camera and VGA front camera.
Both the smartphones run on Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box and support 3G connectivity. The smartphone will be available across all Idea cellular markets, involving, Uttar Pradesh (East), Uttar Pradesh (West), Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Maharashtra, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Punjab, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh.
The handsets also support additional features like sensor, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor. Idea has not yet released the detailed list of all the features. While talking about the launch, Sashi Shankar, chief marketing officer, Idea Cellular told, “3G adoption is greatly dependent on pricing of 3G smartphones and data plans. By bundling 16GB 3G data with our entire range of smartphones, we have brought down the total cost of owning a smartphone, and 3G connection, by over 50 percent. With the new range of Magna and Magna L, 2G users can conveniently upgrade to 3G by paying as low as Rs. 4,999 and acquiring a stylish 3G smartphone with 16 GB data.”
