Alcatel has launched the successor to One Touch Hero – One Touch Hero 2 – at the ongoing IFA 2014 event. The phablet has been priced at Rs 27,400 and it’s available in Europe. Its global availability has not been detailed yet by the company.
Alcatel One Touch Hero 2 runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS and it features 15.24-cm (6-inch) full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) IPS display with One Glass Solution (OGS) and Dragontrail Glass. It’s powered by 2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor and 2GB RAM. The phablet also sports a 13.1MP auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and 5MP front-camera. Its camera features include optical image video stabilisation, extended panorama, touch focus, HDR and burst mode.
The smartphone also has 16GB in-built storage expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. Alcatel One Touch Hero 2 has several connectivity options like 3G, 4G, Bluetooth 4.0; Micro-USB 2.0; GPS/ A-GPS and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with Direct functionality. Currently it’s available only in Dark Grey colour variant. It is packed with a 3100mAh battery which delivers up to 10 hours of talk time and 380 hours stand-by time on 3G.
The smartphone is also equipped with a stylus and it supports MagicFlip LED case, just similar to the HTC Dot View. The case acts as a virtual DJ mixing deck too, as detailed on the company website.
