IIM Bangalore has announced a new course on ‘New Age Business Models’, through IIMBx, the digital learning vertical of the Institute. This short-term course is a six-week online program offered on SWAYAM, the online learning platform of the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, and it aims to help learners gain a deeper understanding of new business models. Curated for Under-Graduate and Postgraduate students of Business Management, working professionals, budding entrepreneurs, and business owners, the course is being offered free of cost.
The course is designed by Professor K Ganesh, adjunct faculty at IIMB and a seasoned entrepreneur with a proven track record of launching and exiting four successful ventures including BigBasket, Tutorvista, Portea, and Bluestone. He is also the founder and partner at GrowthStory, a leading venture builder platform that incubates and promotes new ventures and entrepreneurs. It covers emerging new business models including platforms, marketplaces, aggregators, D2C (Direct-To-Consumer) businesses. There are lectures by industry leaders such as Shekar Sharma, Founder and CEO of Paytm; Ananth Narayan, CEO and Founder, Mensa Brands; Arun Narayan, Vice President, Tanishq; and Vikram Vaidyanathan, Managing Partner, Matrix Partners, amongst others. The pedagogy is a combination of video lectures, case studies, quizzes, self-assessment, discussion forums and will help learners understand nuances about business models, and how new-age companies operate and succeed.
