MOHALI: The start of the third Test between India and Australia at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium was indefinitely delayed due to heavy downpour in Mohali on Thursday.
The toss could not take place as per schedule due to the inclement weather.
The Indian team was learnt to have returned back to the hotel even as the Australians enjoyed a cup of tea, after the outfield was rendered wet due to incessant rain, barely hours before the start of the match.
The super soakers were out in the field as the groundsmen got down to get the surface back in shape for the match.
Seeking to clinch the series, India lead the four-match rubber 2-0 after convincing victories in Chennai and Hyderabad.
