The A T Kearney’s 2016 Global Services Location Index (GSLI) study rated India as number one out of the total 55 countries in the list. According to study, Offshoring to India remains a highly attractive proposition for many global companies. One advantage of tier-3 cities is the relative affordability of real estate are 25 per cent to 30 per cent cheaper than Kolkata and Delhi and another advantage is the relative availability of labour. India’s unchallenged industry leadership is facing a stiff competition from neighbouring China which has become attractive with its recent devaluation of Renminbi and gains in educational skills and cultural adaptability.
