Inspired by the vision of Innovate in India, Aadarsh Pvt Ltd. a media and entertainment company from central India has set the biggest milestone for Innovation and IP industry in India with the nomination of “Purple Turtle” for the Best Use of IP across Multiple Media Platforms Award at LBF 2015. “Purple Turtle” India’s first Animated character that has gone global and created success stories in 27 countries, has now become the only Indian IP shortlisted at the prestigious London Book Fair Awards 2015.
Aadarsh Pvt Ltd., the creators of Purple Turtle from Bhopal has marked the presence of Indian IP and Innovation on the global platform as it became the first Indian Player to get its animated character licensed to 27 countries including USA, UK, Russia, and China. This gender neutral character with global appeal has got 13 Licensing Agents worldwide. With a specialization in IP development, printing, publishing, licensing and entertainment for children, the company has sold more than a million copies of Purple turtle and has licensed the IP for games, books, bags, t-shirts, apps, toys etc. Seeing the potential of e-commerce the Purple Turtle has also been made available across the major e-tailers like Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon. The company is also pushing for having the character available on Amazon in US and UK as well.
The shortlist for The LBF International Excellence Awards 2015 spans the globe with companies from 21 countries being recognised from Philippines to Croatia, and Mexico to Taiwan. This year’s shortlist showcases some of the biggest talents in the industry from the hotly contested Award for Best Use of IP where Mojang, the Swedish developer of video game sensation, Minecraft, take on Aadarsh, the Indian creators of Purple Turtle, the popular franchise of books, apps and YouTube videos.
With 150+ titles to its credit and prestigious recognitions like an award for its Pilot Episode at the Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival, nomination at LBF 2015, the company has set new benchmarks for the innovation and IP creation that is emerging from the tier II cities in the country.
