First bid by soft bank of any project through its joint venture,SBG Clean tech. n June,The bank had collaborate with Fox Conn and Bharti enterprises to invest in Indian solar sector.
The bid were called under the Jawahar lal Nehru National Solar Mission for a solar power project in Andhra Pradesh for which Soft Bank Joint venture company has bid for 500 Mw at an tentative tariff of Rs 5.6-5.75 per Mw.
Around thirty bidders participated in the auction and SBG Clean tech was one of the companies qualified to submit its final bid.
The final winners and bids are scheduled to be shortlisted on Tuesday.
The major foreign companies in the race are China based Trina Solar, US based First Solar and Sun Edison, South African major Solaire Direct and Singapore’s Equis.
Re New Power, Tata Power, Azure Power Welspun Renewable Energy and ACME Solar were the few Indian players who participated in the bidding.
