Infosys has strongly refuted Cognizant’s claims of trade secret theft, calling the accusations overly broad and based on publicly available information. A U.S. court has now directed Cognizant to clarify its definition of trade secrets. This legal dispute between the two IT giants comes at a time when Infosys is making significant strides in expanding its operations in India.
Amid the ongoing dispute, Infosys announced a ₹750 crore expansion of its IT campus in Pocharam, Telangana. The first phase of the project is set to be completed within 2-3 years, with plans to generate 17,000 new jobs, initially accommodating 10,000 employees. The Pocharam campus is already one of Infosys’ largest facilities in India, currently employing over 35,000 people.
At the announcement event, Infosys CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation and continued growth in collaboration with the Telangana government. IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu also reaffirmed the state’s dedication to nurturing talent, fostering strategic alliances, and driving economic progress in the region. This expansion reflects both Infosys’ and Telangana’s shared vision of empowering communities and enhancing India’s growing IT sector.
This development is not only a significant boost to the local economy but also highlights Infosys’ continued efforts to solidify its position as a key player in the global IT industry, while contributing to India’s technological advancements. The expansion of the Pocharam campus underscores Infosys’ focus on long-term growth and sustainability in India’s dynamic IT ecosystem.
