Instagram, a while ago, started releasing the option to connect Instagram DMs with Messenger. During this big declaration, the company said that features such as Watch Together, vanish mode, and chat themes will be added to its direct messages and Facebook Messenger as well, and now these features have been made accessible in which one is releasing slowly on the 2 platforms. Watch Together, allows its users to watch trending videos with friends. Vanish mode will allow users to set messages to automatically disappear after some time.
Facebook has confirmed that the ‘Watch Together’ feature is now accessible in Instagram direct messages and in Messenger too. To use this feature, users should start a video chat on Instagram or Messenger. The ‘Watch Together’ option will be available in the menu option once the video chat begins. The company has claimed that it has added 2 shows for Watch Together. Otherwise, the user and their friends can further tune into IGTV, Reels, other TV shows, movies, and trending videos in real-time over video chat.

Messenger, as well as Instagram users who have picked for the Messenger experience, are further getting the latest chat themes. These contain themes such as tie-dye and love for better personalization. Facebook has added that they are adding a special chat theme on Messenger and Instagram both with TinyTAN which is a group of lovable characters made from BTS. Once they have updated it to the latest experience, they will be able to activate the TinyTAN chat theme on both platforms. People can express their affection with emojis, share their favorite songs from the latest album, or customize their message reactions for their perfect TinyTAN-themed chat. They can be activated by going into chat settings on both platforms.
Instagram and Facebook Messenger are further getting the latest vanish mode that makes messages disappear once they left a chat thread. This can be turned on by swiping up in an existing chat thread. To turn it off, users have to swipe up again. Facebook has said that only people who are following each other on IG or who are connected on Messenger can apply to vanish mode in one-on-one chats. This is an opt-in feature that users can select to be in, or not. When in vanish mode, users are notified when someone takes a chat’s screenshot.
Facebook is gradually releasing vanish mode to Messenger users in the United States and a handful of other nations and it is desired to launch for Instagram users in the United States near future, and Messenger users in European Union should further get it soon. As for other regions, there is no lucidity on the release as of now.
