Meta, the parent company of Instagram, has introduced a set of creative tools to enhance the Instagram experience. These new features were unveiled during a product session in Gurgaon, India, coinciding with Instagram’s 13th anniversary on October 6th.
One common practice on Instagram, especially among the younger audience, is celebrating birthdays. To make this experience more engaging, Meta has introduced the ‘Birthday’ feature. Users can now notify their friends and followers about their special day, fostering lively celebrations complete with stickers and confetti.
Notes have become a fundamental way of communication, similar to direct messages, among young users on Instagram. To enrich this experience, Meta has introduced two new features:
1. Audio Notes: Users can now leave voice recordings as Notes, adding a personal and expressive touch to their interactions.
2. Selfie Video Notes: This feature enables users to capture short looping videos within their Notes, which remain visible for 24 hours, adding a dynamic dimension to platform interactions.
Responding to user feedback, Meta is introducing the highly requested ‘Multiple Lists in Stories’ feature. This enhancement allows users to create various lists, extending beyond just Close Friends. Users will soon have the ability to categorize their friends into different groups, offering more control over who can see their Stories.
Meta has announced that these new features will begin testing and roll out soon.
